Congratulations on your Paint Zoom! Before you use this magical new paint tool, give your manual a quick read and watch some of the instructional videos that Paint Zoom has provided. It’s okay to run into one or two minor problems while using it. Let’s go over some of the common problems that customers encounter and the things you can do to troubleshoot them.

Problem #1: Paint Clogs the Nozzle

It’s always a good idea to clean Paint Zoom after use. To clean it:

  1. Remove paint from the paint container.
  2. Fill the paint container with clean water (if you use water-based paint) or paint thinner (if you used oil-based paint).
  3. Attach the container to the spray gun.
  4. Point the nozzle into an empty bucket and then spray until the container is empty.
  5. Repeat the process above until nozzle lets out clear water.

Next thing you need to do is deep clean the spray gun with warm soapy water. Take it apart and submerge it for at least 15 minutes.

Problem #2: Overspray

Before you start spraying, get objects or furniture out of the way. You may also reduce paint output by turning the knob behind the spray gun clockwise.

Problem #3: Paint Leaks from the Container

Be sure that the paint container is screwed on tightly. Unscrew the paint container and, using a clean washcloth, remove excess paint from the top edge. Screw it back on tightly.

Problem #4: Paint Spray is Too Thin or Dispersed

Make sure that your paint has the right viscosity (refer to the manual for this). When using the spray gun, move closer to the target surface by about a couple of inches, and try to move along the surface slowly. You may also turn the knob behind the gun counter-clockwise to increase paint output.

Problem #5: Paint Spray is Too Thick and Drippy

Make sure that your paint has the right viscosity. You should also try moving the gun farther from the target surface when spraying. To reduce paint output, turn the knob behind the spray gun clockwise. You may also try moving along the target surface in a quicker, but more consistent manner.

Move farther from the target surface; Adjust the knob behind the spray gun to reduce paint output; Move along the target surface in a quicker, but more consistent manner.
